Empowering youth with chronic pain through novel treatments
CHYP’s rebuilt website made its free programs easier to reach for young people with chronic pain; Google Ad Grant management now brings those young people to the door.

The story
The Challenge
CHYP’s audience meets the internet under strain: teens managing daily pain, parents searching late at night for anything that helps. The old site wasn’t built for them. CHYP needed dramatically better usability, accessibility, and mobile experience, plus functionality most nonprofit sites never require: custom systems supporting its research work and its membership community, all fully accessible. Building on that work, a revamped marketing approach ensured the finished website could actually be found by families in need of chronic pain solutions.
Our Approach
We designed and built a new website with UX, accessibility, and mobile experience as the core requirements, then engineered the complex customizations underneath: tailored data-tracking and analysis solutions for CHYP’s research programs and a membership system for its community, implemented to accessibility compliance standards throughout. When the site launched in March 2025, we moved straight to the second half of the plan: Google Ad Grant management, using the program’s free search advertising to put CHYP’s programs in front of youth, families, and clinicians searching for chronic pain support, with the new, fast, accessible site ready to receive them.
Why It Worked
Build the destination first, then the traffic. Launching a genuinely accessible, mobile-first site before turning on the Ad Grant meant every click lands somewhere worthy of it — and for families in pain, that first impression is the difference between leaving and staying.
The Results
A completed website the client reports exceeded expectations on delivery, customization, and value
Accessibility compliance across a site whose audience depends on it
Research and membership workflows running natively on the new platform
Grant-funded search campaigns now driving qualified families to free programs

First the destination, then the traffic.
The site launched first — fast, accessible, mobile-first — and only then did Google Ad Grant management turn on, putting CHYP’s free programs in front of the youth, families, and clinicians searching for chronic pain support.
“Everything exceeded expectations.”
